Interesting that both Solaris and this film have a similar feel in the production. Tarkovsky made Solaris in the 70s, and this one was made in 1960. Of course they are both based on stories by Stan Lem, but it's the production, not the story, which seems to be similar to me.
Can't really put my finger on it, though. Anyway, thought i'd put it out there. Also, interesting to note is how Solaris was largely a film about one man in space whereas Venus has a busload of crewmembers out there on the mission! Man alive. -robert
